New Year, First Blog

I realize I'm a few weeks behind and all but I decided I might as well try the whole "New Year, New Me" train ride.  Or is it train wreck?  Either way, I made the decision to really try to do 3 personal things this year to make a difference in myself.  No, I didn't decide to lose weight, eat healthier or go to the gym more-blah, blah, blah.  But I did see a meme on Facebook a couple days ago and it made me laugh.  Then it inspired me.  Here is that meme:

This year I decided to learn how to read a map.  I'm 36 years old and I have no idea (okay, I have a little bit of an idea) how to read a map. If I'm going some place I've never been and my phone dies or Heaven forbid there's no WiFi, then I'm up you-know-what-creek without a paddle.  To make things worse, I don't really have a sense of direction.  That's probably because I never learned how to read a map...a vicious cycle, I tell ya!

So now that you know I want to learn how to read a map, you're probably wondering what my other two resolutions are, right?  Well...I decided I need to pray more and worry less.  That's it.  It's that simple.  I guess with the good Lord above and in my heart to protect me and a map to help guide me, I'll always know the right direction to go.
